Traditional Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in
heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy Will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts,
As we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil, Amen

Watch, O Lord
Watch, O Lord, with those who wake,
or watch, or weep tonight,
and give your angels and saints
charge over those who sleep.
Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ,
rest your weary ones,
bless your dying ones,
soothe your suffering ones,
pity your afflicted ones
shield your joyous ones.
And all for your love's sake.
Amen. - St. Augustine

Morning
Prayers
My Heavenly Father, I thank You, through Jesus Christ, Your
beloved Son, that You kept me safe from
all evil and danger last night. Save me, I pray, today as well, from every evil
and sin, so that all
I do and the way that I live will please you. I put myself in your care, body
and soul and all that I have.
Let Your holy Angels be with me, so that the evil enemy will not gain power over
me. Amen - martin luther

Morning Prayer
Abide with us and with all thy faithful ones, O Lord, in time and eternity.
O Lord, grant me to
greet the coming day in peace, help me in all things to rely upon your holy
will.
In every hour of the day reveal your will to me. Bless my dealings with all who
surround me.
Teach me to treat all that comes to throughout the day with peace of soul
and with firm conviction that your will governs all.
In all my deeds and words, guide my thoughts and feelings.
In unforeseen events, let me not forget that all are sent by you.
Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing
others.
Give me strength to bear the fatigue of the coming day with all that it shall
bring.
Direct my will, teach me to pray. And you, yourself, pray in me. Amen. -St.

Dawn
Look to this day, for it
is Life, the very life of Life;
In its brief course lie all the verities and realities of your existence...
the bliss of Growth, the glory of Action, the splendour of Beauty.
For Yesterday is but a dream,
and Tomorrow only a vision;
But Today well lived makes Yesterday a dream of Happiness
and Tomorrow a vision of Hope.
Look well, therefore, to this day.
Such is the salutation to the Dawn. -Sanskrit
Morning Prayer
O Lord, grant that my heart may be truly cleansed and filled with Thy Holy Spirit, and that I may arise to serve Thee, and lie down to sleep in entire confidence in Thee, and submission to Thy will, ready for life or for death. Let me live for the day, not overcharged with worldly cares, but feeling that my treasure is not here, and desiring truly to be joined to Thee in Thy heavenly kingdom, and to those who are already gone to Thee. O Lord, save me from sin, and guide me with Thy Spirit, and keep me in faithful obedience to Thee, through Jesus Christ Thy Son, our Lord - Rev. Thomas Arnold

Prayer of St.
Patrick
I arise today
Through the strength of heaven;
Light of the sun,
Splendor of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of the wind,
Depth of the sea,
Stability of the earth,
Firmness of the rock.
I arise today
Through God's strength to pilot me;
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's hosts to save me
Afar and anear,
Alone or in a mulitude.
Christ shield me today
Against wounding
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in the eye that sees me,
Christ in the ear that hears me.
I arise today
Through the mighty strength
Of the Lord of creation.

Prayers For Giving
Thanks
Almighty God, and most merciful father, who didst command the
children of Israel to offer a daily
sacrifice to thee, that thereby they might glorify and praise thee for thy
protection both night and day,
receive, O Lord, my morning sacrifice which I now offer up to thee; I yield thee
humble and hearty thanks
that thou has preserved me from the danger of the night past, and brought me to
the light of the day, and the
comforts thereof, a day which is consecrated to thine own service and for thine
own honor. - George Washington

Prayers For Peace
The Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an
instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon,
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
It is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

May every creature abound
in well-being and peace.
May every living being, weak or strong, the long and the small
The short and the medium-sized, the mean and the great
May every living being, seen or unseen, those dwelling far off,
Those near by, those already born, those waiting to be born
May all attain inward peace.
Let no one deceive another
Let no one despise another in any situation
Let no one, from antipathy or hatred, wish evil to anyone at all.
Just as a mother, with her own life, protects her only son from hurt
So within yourself foster a limitless concern for every living creature.
Display a heart of
boundless love for all the world
In all its height and depth and broad extent
Love unrestrained, without hate or enmity.
Then as you stand or walk, sit or lie, until overcome by drowsiness
Devote your mind entirely to this, it is known as living here life divine.

Almighty God, the Great Thumb
we cannot evade to tie any knot;
the roaring Thunder that splits mighty trees:
the all-seeing Lord up on high who sees even the footprints of antelope on a
rock mass here on Earth.
You are the one who does not hesitate to respond to our call.
You are the cornerstone of peace. - African

"God adjudges us according to
our deeds, not the coat that we wear."
That Truth is above everything, but higher still is truthful living.
Know that we attain God when we love, and only that victory endures
in consequence of which no one is defeated. - Sikh

Be generous in prosperity,
and thankful in adversity.
Be fair in judgement,
and guarded in thy speech,
Be a lamp unto those who walk
in darkness, and a home
to the stranger.
Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light
unto the feet of the erring
Be a breath of life to the body of
humankind, a dew to the soil of
the human heart,
and a fruit upon the tree of humility. - Baha'i

May all beings everywhere
plagued
with sufferings of body and mind
quickly be freed from their illnesses.
May those frightened cease to be afraid,
and may those bound be free.
May the powerless find power,
and may people think of befriending one another.
May those who find themselves in trackless, fearful wilderness--
the children, the aged, the unprotected--
be guarded by beneficial celestials,
and may they swiftly attain Buddhahood. - Buddhist

Lead us from the unreal to
the Real.
Lead us from darkness to light.
Lead us from death to immortality.
Peace, Peace, Peace unto all.
May there be peace in celestial regions.
May there be peace on Earth.
May the waters be appeasing.
May herbs be wholesome,
and may trees and plants bring peace to all.
May all beneficient beings bring peace to us.
May thy Law propagate peace
all through the world.
May all things be a source of peace to us.
And may thy peace itself, bestow peace on all
and may that peace come to me also. - Hindu

In the name of Allah,
the beneficent, the merciful.
Praise be to the Lord of the
Universe who has created us and
made us into tribes and nations
That we may know each other, not that
we may despise each other.
If the enemy incline towards peace, do
thou also incline towards peace, and
trust God, for the Lord is the one that
heareth and knoweth all things.
And the servants of God,
Most gracious are those who walk on
the Earth in humility, and when we
address them, we say "Peace." -Muslim

Come let us go up to
the mountain of the Lord, that we may walk the paths of the Most High.
And we shall beat our swords into ploughshares and our spears into pruning
hooks.
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation-neither shall they learn war any
more.
And none shall be afraid, for the mouth of the Lord of Hosts has spoken. -

Evening Prayers
Abide with us, O
Lord, for it is toward evening and the day is far spent; abide with us, and
with thy whole Church.
Abide with us in the evening of the day, in the evening of life, in the
evening of the world.
Abide with us and with all thy faithful ones, O Lord, in time and eternity.
-Lutheran Manual of Prayer
Blessed are you, Lord our God,
king of the universe,
who causes the bonds of sleep to fall on my eyes, and slumber on my eyelids.
May it be acceptable in your presence, O Lord my God, and God of my
fathers,
to cause me to lie down in peace, and to raise me up again in peace;
and suffer me not to be troubled with evil dreams, or evil reflections;
but grant me a calm and uninterrupted repose in your presence;
and enlighten my eyes again, lest I sleep the sleep of death.
Blessed are you, O Lord, who gives light to the whole universe in your glory -
Jewish

Evening Family Prayer
Lord, behold our family
here assembled.
We thank you for this place in which we dwell,
for the love that unites us,
for the peace accorded to us this day,
for the hope with which we expect the morrow;
for the health, the work, the food and the bright skies
that make our lives delightful;
for our friends in all parts of the earth. Amen
-Robert Louis Stevenson
~~~
Bedtime Prayer - Archbishop Laud
Lord God,
send peaceful sleep
to refresh our tired bodies.
May your help always renew us
and keep us strong in your service.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend our souls and bodies,
beseeching you to keep us this night under your protection
and strengthen us for our service on the morrow,
for Christ's sake. Amen.
Prayers For Healing
Be at Peace
Do not fear the changes of life--
Rather look to them with full hope as they arise.
God, whose very own you are,
Will deliver you from out of them.
He has kept you hitherto,
And He will lead you safely through all things;
And when you cannot stand it,
God will bury you in His arms.
Do not be afraid of what may happen tomorrow;
The same everlasting Father who cares for you today
Will take care of you then and every day.
He will either shield you from suffering,
Or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at Peace--
And put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.
--St. Francis de Sales~~~
Thy name is my healing, oh my God, and remembrance of Thee is my remedy. Nearness to Thee is my hope and love for Thee is my companion. Thy mercy to me is my healing and my succor in both this world and the world to come. Thou, verily, are the All-Bountiful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. - Bahai'i~~~
Wedding Blessings
By the power that Christ brought from heaven, mayst thou
love me.
As the sun follows its course, mayst thou follow me.
As light to the eye, as bread to the hungry, as joy to the heart,
may thy presence be with me, O one that I love,
till death comes to part us asunder. - Irish
God in heaven above
please protect the ones we love.
We honor all you created as we pledge
our hearts and lives together.
We honor mother-earth
and ask for our marriage to be abundant
and grow stronger through the seasons;
We honor fire
and ask that our union be warm
and glowing with love in our hearts;
We honor wind
and ask we sail though life
safe and calm as in our father's arms;
We honor water
to clean and soothe our relationship
that it may never thirst for love;
With all the forces of the universe you created,
we pray for harmony and true happiness as we forever grow young together. -
Now you will feel no
rain,
For each of you will be shelter to the other.
Now you will feel no cold,
For each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there is no more loneliness,
For each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two bodies,
But there is only one life before you.
Go now to your dwelling place,
To enter into the days of your togetherness,
And may your days be good and long upon the earth. - Apache
unite your hearts in the never-ending bond of pure love.
May your children bring you happiness,
and may your generous love for them
be returned to you many times over.
May the peace of Christ live always
in your hearts and in your home.
May you have true friends to stand by you,
both in joy and in sorrow.
May you be ready and willing to help
and comfort all who come to you in need.
And may the blessings promised to the compassionate
be yours in abundance.
May you find happiness and satisfaction in your work.
May daily problems never cause you undue anxiety,
nor the desire for earthly possessions dominate your lives.
But may your heart's first desire be always for the
good things waiting for you in the life of heaven.
May the Lord bless you with many happy years together,
so that you may enjoy the rewards of a good life.
And after you have served Him loyally in His kingdom on earth,
may He welcome you to His eternal kingdom in heaven.
And may Almighty God bless you. Amen. - Christian
Blessed art thou, O Lord
our God, King of the universe,
who hath created joy and gladness, bridegroom and bride,
mirth and exultation, pleasure and delight,
love and brotherhood, peace and friendship.
May there soon be heard in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem,
the voice of joy and gladness,
the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride,
the jubilant voice of bridegrooms from the wedding canopy,
and of youths from their feasts of song.
Blessed art thou, O Lord, who gives the Bridegroom joy in his bride. - Hebrew
