Enchanted
Gardens provide unique landscaping designs based on ancient correspondences between
particular plants and specific Gods and Goddesses, mythical beasts, nature sprites, the
Faery Folk, elements, planets and astrological signs, the chakras, Archangels, and the
Sephirah of the Qabalah. So whether you want to turn a corner of your backyard into a wild
woodland setting to attract the Faeries and other nature spirits, form a container garden
on your patio or balcony to attract your Guardian angels, create a sacred grove honoring
your special deities in which to celebrate the rites of the year, plant a hedge of
protective shrubs and flowers around the perimeter of your yard, construct a garden for a
specific deity or intention, such as a Garden of Love, or Wisdom or a Garden to honor
Brighid, erect a formal Qabalah garden for Pathworking, or landscape your front- and
backyards to reflect who you are, design utilizing plants adapted for your climate
zone. Other specialized gardens include the traditional English cottage garden, a Druid's
garden of healing plants, as well as culinary and medicinal herb gardens that no Wise
Woman would have been without.There are Garden designs to attract hummingbirds and
song birds, to create a wildlife habitat, or that utilize drought resistant plants.
Herbs used for Biblical
Remedies
Sore and wounds were
treated mostly with poultices made from bear's breech, honey and lard, ivy gum (from the
ivy plant), agrimony, linseed oil, and papaya peel.
Sprains were wrapped with an ointment made from the crushed leaves of comfrey plant.
Rheumatism was treated by soaking the balm of Gilliad in olive oil and applied in liniment
form.By having a massage with salt followed by a full body shampoo, you would feel as you
do after enjoying a soak in a spa. This helps with blood circulation.
Upset stomachs were settled by gargeling with rosemary water, and drinking it. Also ginger
root would have been nibbled on.
Headaches called for
rosemary tea, or spearmint leaves being layed on the forehead. Sweet marjoram's oil was
rubbed upon the forehead for relief.
Rosemary twigs were boiled in water and used to wash a feverish body. White willow was
made into a tes for what we know as an asprin effect.
An earache? Softened
flowers of the mullein plant steeped in olive oil were used as drops.
Garlic was also
thought to have releived pain and loosen the earwax.
Holy Thistle
Holy Thistle is given it's name
from a legend connected with the Virgin MAry, whose tears falling on the plant, gave it
the white substance with which it has ever been covered.
St. John's Wort
It is the tradition
that the leaves of St. John's Wort are stained with red spots on the 29th August, the day
St. John the Baptist was beheaded. It's ancient name, Fuga Daemonum, referred to
it's power of driving away evil spirits. The night of St. John has been celebrated all
over the world by peasant girls who hang the plant over their doors, and sleep with it
under their pillows, to get rid of evil spells, or to fortell who their future husbands
will be.

There are several ways of
approaching a faerie-attracting garden.
The most powerful way is to
mentally super-impose the bagua over your entire plot of land and add flowers whose colors
correspond with that particular area of the bagua. If you prefer, add ch'i enhancing
flowers only in the areas that correspond with issues you are currently addressing in your
life. If space is at a premium, you might want to plant a mini-bagua of flowers in the
octagonal or round shape, using corresponding colors in the middle of your yard. use your
driveway to align the bagua, entering your property in either the knowledge, Career or
Helpful People gua.
There are a variety of special flowers
associated with
specific guas whose powers are defined here:
Natures's Friends
Though Angels do not govern nature as
faeries do, Angels deeply value what nature has to offer.
Angels love the wisdom of the forest, color
schemata of terrains, the smell of fresh air and the soothing sounds of water. They also
encourage a heightened awareness of nature.
Nature emanates a Special unique energy that
we can all benefit from. In essence, God has provided us with nature to nourish our eyes
and recharge our batteries. To reciprocate, humans must learn from our Celestial beings
how to appreciate, respect and preserve nature to the best of our abilities.
So as a special thank you to our
Angelic/faerie friends and God, our Creator, take on a few nature projects
* plant flowers and trees.
* plan a vegetable garden.
* frequent and support local parks.
* learn nature's laws.
* become an environmental advocate.
Purple butterfly bushes
attract butterflies, which faeries love to ride, and
can enhance the Wealth area of your property. Spring time hyacinths, purple petunias, or
asters could also be used. A holly bush in this area brings prosperity.
* Snapdragons call the
etheric dragons to the Health and Family area of the bagua. Sage gives the faeries and
elves lots of energy then you can save tit and dry it for smudging yourself or your home.
* French blue hydrangea or blue delphinium are great in the Knowledge area, as are tulips, peppermint, and
spearmint. Look inside the tulip cup top try to catch a glimpse of a napping faerie.
* Black knight iris are a
great conversation starter for a lovely spring day. Although it isn;t the color black,
basil planted in the career area can bring fortitude.
* Dusty miller, fescue silver lining, or silver artemesia in shades of gray can fortify the Helpful People area.
* White peonies or chrysanthemums, two Chinese favorites, are great additions to plant in the Children and
Creativity area. Don't forget the daisy, a favorite of the wood nymphs.
* The pink rose faerie
will bless the Love and Marriage, but don't overdo it--more than three rose bushes on an
average sized property can cause relationships to become too thorny. Balance this area, as
well as the others, with different size and shaped plants by adding pink dianthus or
geranium.
* The myriad of red flowers available given many choices in the Fame and Reputation area. An elf will
often oversee red geranium beds.
* The center (earth) area is represented by yellow and brown earth tones Marigolds are not looked upon favorably from a Feng
Shui perspective, so choose another species of yellow flower. For example,
lemon verbena can be recycled into potpourri when dried. Who can
resist the simple beauty of a golden
pansy?
Outdoor plants and trees should not be
located directly in front of a home's entrance or block window views. Trees and bushes are
providential when planted in multiples of three. While the most auspicious number in Feng
Shui is nine, outdoor space may limit this option. So not allow bushes to scratch against
a home, and if you have pets or small children, be sure to research plant toxicity before
planting. When planting, it is important to declare your intentions as
to what you world like these flowers to bring into your life. Thank the Earth Gods and
Faeries for their part in the upcoming beauty, and add the whimsy of a windsock of
whirl-I-gig to get ch'i moving. In a few short weeks, you will enjoy the majesty and ch'i
of faeries, butterflies, and fireflies in your garden.The flowers lovely aroma may bring a
visit from Feng P'o P'o, the Chinese wind goddess who rides a tiger among the clouds. This
